Cityscapes

by Justin on March 23, 2010

I make a sincere effort to remain on track with the subject matter here, but I found a way to justify this post. You see, what I really love about fictional brands is that they’re usually designed to be overlooked. There’s something exhilarating about discovering the complexity and/or beauty of something that was created to be completely ancillary, such as a briefly flashed beer label or a television test pattern.

Or the urban backdrops of old NES and Famicom games.

The following images are from the Flickr user Max Capacity’s Cityscapes set:

If you like what you’ve seen here, then head over to the full Flickr set and gush about the genius of this project in the comments section. You’ll feel better about yourself, and all of those who’ve wronged Max Capacity in the past will solemnly weep with regret as they witness him dance in a downpour of exaltation.
